Is there a way for someone to buy a course and give as a gift for someone?

I generally just do this sort of thing manually using the buyer's names and email addresses, rather than juggling coupon codes. You can take their money in person and then have them create an online account; once you get the email notifier that their name is in the system, you can log in and manually add them to the course.
If this is your main avenue of sales, I would suggest setting up a Mixpanel notifier to go out when someone creates an account with your school, instructing them to email you and request gift certificate or course activation.
On Teachable their will be no record of their purchase, so I would also suggest adding a note to their account with the details of their purchase for your own tracking.
