Currently the built in comment system in Teachable can accept all html elements, but for some users this might seem like a terrifying alternative.

To make it a little easier, here's a few ways to get the code you need.

If you use google photos, this site has made it super easy.

  1. Go to your google photo album
  2. Click on the sharing button
  3. Copy your share link
  4. Go to https://ctrlq.org/google/photos/
  5. Paste the code you copied
  6. Click "generate code"
  7. Copy the new code that it creates for you & add it to the comment area in teachable

The code will look something like this:

<a href='https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tacBxDYd_mr3uh-fHerw5rcbo8ahK6WeKw/view?usp=sharing&amp;usp=embed_facebook&source=ctrlq.org'><img src='https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/4nlXw_-rZ9WPk3iEmLCTBaPPO8UvI0DxIQYvasXFo_yH6BI7frnXQ0JfhyXY' /></a>

If you'd prefer to have your students simply upload directly, there's another alternative you might want to consider. It's called Airtable.

This might seem like an unconventional use for this tool, but it will work. Here's an example:

Create a new Airtable, and name it something that will help you discover it quickly. I'm using "Teachable Comments", but you might want to name it based on your course name, or even the section of your course, if you'd like to keep the table small (in the free account, you can have 2GB uploads per table, but unlimited tables - so if you suspect you'll use more than that, then make extra tables).

Open the table and rename your tabs

Click on the "Main View" tab and you'll see a drop down menu - choose "Form"

Click "Share" and choose the "embed this form to your site"

It will open up a new tab or window & give you the embed code.

In a new text area on your lesson, add this embed code in the <> and click "add text"

Go back to views & create a new gallery view

Name the new view & click on "customize cards" and check or uncheck any fields to create a visual that you're comfortable with

Click on this button and check the box to say you'd like to share the view

And click on the "embed this view on your site" again

Repeat the step to add the embed code into a text element in your lesson.

Now, preview your lesson to see how it looks. Make adjustments to labels or table colors.

This is a very simple example of what we've just created.
